Mt. Hakodate is 334 meters above the sea. Hakodate’s urban area and the sea stretch out from the foot of the mountain. The observatory commands wonderful scenery in the day and at night. You can go to the mountaintop by ropeway or bus, or take a path leading to the top and go on a hike. You can enjoy abundant nature and see the ruins of a fortress that was used until 1945.

Access from Hakodate Station	5 minutes by tram to the “Jujigai” tram stop. 10-minute walk to the Ropeway station. 3-minute ride on the Ropeway delivers you to the summit.
