Tachikawa Residence and Shop was a store built in storehouse style of construction in 1901, designated as important cultural property. It is a fire-resistant building and escaped the great fire, which burned nearly 10,000 homes, in 1907. It is currently used for parties and exhibitions. The Western-style building next door can be used as a guest house.
