Nijyukken-zaka Slope
二十間坂 / Nijyukken-Zaka

The road is 20 ken (about 36 meters) wide and was built as a firebreak during the Meiji Era (1868-1912). It faces the Shinshu Otaniha Hakodate Betsuin (Higashihongan-ji Temple Hakodate Branch). In winter, visitors can enjoy beautiful illumination.
