During winter, you can see monkeys soaking in a hot spring at Hakodate’s popular hot spring resort of Yunokawa. In the Tropical Botanical Garden, nearly 100 monkeys are fed at the open-air monkey mountain. When winter comes, hot spring water is poured in the pool, where the monkeys sit and bathe in the water peacefully. Watching those monkeys will warm your heart. (Holidays ; December 29 – January 1)

Access from Hakodate Station	[Bus] Take the Hakodate Bus Line 95 bound for "Hiyoshi eigyosho mae" and you will arrive at the "Tropical Botanical Garden" bus stop in 20 minutes. 3 minutes on foot [Tram] 30 minutes by tram to the "Yunokawa-onsen" tram stop & 15 minutes on foot
